Using one of my favorite Linux distribution, I will show you how Installing CentOS Linux OS Minimal Server is easy, simple, and most suitable setup for Web Hosting Solution. As you will see, each Linux distribution got its own way when it comes to install the OS. The following slideshows will show you how to install the latest version of Debian OS minimal Server down to three versions of the distribution. It’s highly recommended to use the server version over the Desktop version especially in production environment.

A. Basic Red Hat or CentOS Base System Knowledge

Install CentOS7 OS Linux Minimal Server

Note: As of this writing, 7.1 was the latest version of CentOS7.

To download the latest version of CentOS7, use the following link: http://mirror.es.its.nyu.edu/centos/7/isos/x86_64/ Scroll down and Pick the Minimal 64bit Structure. At the time you are viewing this article, the CentOS version might be higher, however, look for “64-Minimal” as shown below.

Install CentOS6 OS Linux as Minimal Server

Note: As of this writing, 6.7 was the latest supported version of CentOS6. Please keep in mind that 6.0, 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4 and 6.5 no longer gets any updates, nor any security fix’s. Source http://mirror.es.its.nyu.edu/centos/6.5/readme
